If your child is going to be absent, we kindly ask parents and caregivers to give us a call by 9:00am at the latest, or use the Hero app. This must be done every day that your child is absent. Students who show a pattern of absence or lateness without good reason may be referred to the Truancy Service.

Cellphones

Rutherford Intermediate does not allow students to have cellphones at school. Students who bring their phones to school are required to hand their phones in to the office at the beginning of the school day and pick them up at the end. They are not allowed to use their phones during the day. If a student is observed with a phone, they will be asked to take it to the office for a parent to collect.

As part of the Ka Ora Ka Ako Healthy School Lunch programme, we have great lunches supplied free from Whanganui Girls College everyday for our students.
